Garmin Integration Overview
The Garmin tab in Holltask Mobile connects your Garmin watch to the app, automatically pulling in your workout and sleep data so you don't have to manually enter it.
Connecting Your Garmin Account
To use the Garmin integration, you need to connect your Garmin account. You must use the Holltask web app to connect your Garmin account—this connection cannot be set up from the mobile app. Once connected via the web app, your Garmin data will automatically sync to both the web app and the mobile app.
What It Does Right Now
I have a Garmin watch, and I've connected the Garmin API to automatically send workout and sleep data to Holltask. The data flows in automatically—when you finish a workout or when your watch tracks your sleep, that information gets pulled into the app.
Right now, I don't really do much with this data. It's being collected and stored, but it's not being used in any meaningful way yet.
Workout Routines
The Garmin tab also includes a workout routine section where you can create and save your workout routines. This feature helps you remember your workouts and access them easily whenever you need them. Instead of trying to recall what exercises you did last time or what your routine was, you can create a routine once and then quickly pull it up whenever you're ready to work out.
Where This Could Go
The plan is to eventually combine this Garmin data into the Dashboard and the Chat tab to give you better insights into yourself. For example:
- Dashboard: Show your recent workouts and sleep quality alongside your todos, macros, and day ratings to see how they all connect
- Chat: The assistant could analyze your workout patterns, sleep quality, and how they relate to your productivity, day ratings, and other metrics
The idea is that having all this data in one place—workouts, sleep, todos, macros, day ratings—could reveal interesting patterns. Maybe you notice that on days when you get better sleep, you complete more todos. Or that certain types of workouts correlate with higher day ratings. That kind of insight is what I'm aiming for.
For now, the integration is working and collecting data. The next step is building out those insights and visualizations.
