Updating

Updating a todo is just as simple as creating one. You can edit any part of it whenever you need to.

How to Update a Todo

  1. Click the title to start editing the title
  2. Click the description or notes (if they exist) to start editing those fields
  3. Press Shift + Enter while editing to cycle through the fields (title → description → notes → back to title)
  4. Press Enter to complete the update and save your changes

Updating Status, Priority, and Category

When you hover over a todo, a context menu appears. You can click on the status, priority, or category badges to cycle through the available options and change them.

Important Notes About Category Changes

If you have a category filter active and you change a todo's category, there's a short delay (about one second) before the change takes effect. This delay gives you time to cycle through options without the todo disappearing immediately. However, once you stop clicking and the delay completes, if the new category doesn't match your current filter, the todo will disappear from view.

Important Notes About Status Changes

If you change a todo's status to "completed," the todo will disappear from your list since completed todos are hidden by default. You can use Ctrl + B to toggle showing completed todos if you want to see them again.

What You Can Update

You can change any part of a todo:

  • Title - The main task description
  • Description - Additional details
  • Notes - Extra context or reminders
  • Due date - When it needs to be done
  • Priority - High, medium, or low
  • Category - Which project or area it belongs to
  • Status - Mark it as complete or incomplete

Marking as Complete

To mark a todo as complete, just check the box next to it. Completed todos can be hidden using Ctrl + B if you want to focus only on what's still active.
